The Original Thirst Quencher

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink. He that believeth on Me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake He of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) _{John 7:2,37-39}

  It seems no matter who we have in our lives and no matter how many toys we possess we still end up thirsty. We can marry the man of our dreams, have well mannered kids, the best job, house, car, friends, etc...you get the picture, yet at the end of the day, we are thirsty. Why? Because we are wired to be watered by our Creator. Only God satisfies the thirsty, battle weary, pilgrim passing through soul.  Since God and Jesus are on the throne-- the Comforter, the Holy Ghost who is a PERSON, and not an it, was sent. Jesus is all about empowering His followers- He didn't say out My belly shall flow for you- the rivers of living water. He said instead that He's going to give Him to us. As you share Christ and or disciple this week, don't forget to tell them about the Holy Ghost. They will NEED Him as they continue on this journey in a dry, and parched land.
