Evangelism Memory Verse Colossians 1:20

Colossians 1:20 (21st Century King James Version)

And having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself -- by Him, I say, whether they be things on earth or things in heaven.

Colossians 1:20 (Amplified Bible)

And God purposed that through ([a]by the service, the intervention of) Him [the Son] all things should be completely reconciled [b]back to Himself, whether on earth or in heaven, as through Him, [the Father] made peace by means of the blood of His cross

Colossians 1:20 (Contemporary English Version)

And God was pleased for Him to make peace by sacrificing His blood on the cross,
so that all beings in heaven and on earth would be brought back to God.

William Carey- A Man with a Heart for Missions

For I am not ashamed of the Gospel (good news) of Christ, for it is God's power working unto salvation [for deliverance from eternal death] to everyone who believes with a personal trust and a confident surrender and firm reliance, to the Jew first and also to the Greek, For in the Gospel a righteousness which God ascribes is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [disclosed through the way of faith that arouses to more faith]. As it is written, The man who through faith is just and upright shall live and shall live by faith. Romans 5:16 & 17

Another great Evangelist was William Carey. He was converted as a teenager and began to preach at 24. In 1792 he published a small book called "An Enquiry Into the Obligation of Christians to Use Means for the Conversion of the Heathens" (this is the shortened title!) A quote from the book explains the call of evangelism wired into every single disciple of Christ- he writes, "This commission was as extensive as possible, and laid the disciples under obligation to disperse themselves into every country of the habitable globe, and preach to all the inhabitants without exception, or limitation." This great man of God preached the Gospel and encouraged Pastors to give to missions work. Carey and his family moved from Europe to a Danish colony in India. During those many years he pastored, preached, and translated the Bible into 37 languages. He helped to abolish the "suttee" practice where Hindu widows were burned to death alive at their husbands funeral service bonfire. He also founded a Bible College, and botanical gardens. He accomplished so much while experiencing personal setbacks and constant family troubles, yet he never looked back, he kept right on working and reaching the lost. As you read this may your heart be stirred toward missions work if it hasn't been already! If you are a Pastor may the LORD raise up people in your church that can be sent to other countries to preach the Gospel. In addition there are already many established churches and missionaries over seas who could advance the kingdom of God just as rapidly with your churches support, and they could do it with less money than over here in the States. Evangelism Memory Verse Hebrews 10:29

Hebrews 10:29 (21st Century King James Version)

Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath accounted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath despised the Spirit of grace?

Hebrews 10:29 (Amplified Bible)

How much worse (sterner and heavier) punishment do you suppose he will be judged to deserve who has spurned and [thus] trampled underfoot the Son of God, and who has considered the covenant blood by which he was consecrated common and unhallowed, thus profaning it and insulting and outraging the [Holy] Spirit [Who imparts] grace (the unmerited favor and blessing of God)?

Hebrews 10:29 (New Living Translation)

Just think how much worse the punishment will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God, and have treated the blood of the covenant, which made us holy, as if it were common and unholy, and have insulted and disdained the Holy Spirit who brings God’s mercy to us.
