Are You Awaiting God's Wrath or His Mercy?

For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.  I Thessalonians 5.9-10

There are many things I'm thankful for. The greatest thing I'm thankful for is salvation. Oh I have had money, cars, jewelry, popularity, and all that jazz, but to KNOW that here on this turbulent planet and in the life to come...God's wrath does not await me. Oh there are times when bad things happen and a little voice whispers--God hates you or God is mad at you. My response to those voices--WHY should He be? The biggest mistake we can make as Followers of Christ is to think that our past or current adversity is a reflection of how God feels about us. Now we know there are times of chastening, and we KNOW when those whoopings are taking place don't we!LOL!! But that is just the Father's love-- NOT His wrath.
So, to those that don't know Jesus, let them know that GOD wants to show them mercy, and not His wrath. While it is true that God is angry with the wicked ever day, His love sent Jesus to the cross--for them...for us. God desires all of us to be with Him forever, and Jesus life, death, and resurrection made that possible. Have a safe holiday weekend, and share Jesus while you are enjoying your barbeque! We love you (-:

WELL Watered in the Time of Drought

Isaiah 58:11

The LORD will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

It is being reported that we in the US, are in the worst drought that has taken place for a long time. Even the great Mississippi River is needing assistance from the Army Corps of Engineers, so ships containing billions of dollars of precious cargo, can pass through the "Muddy Mississippi." As CHRISTians God is our help and He is willing, able, and faithful enough to DO just what our memory verse says. GOD will guide, satisfy, and strengthen us. In the middle of a "sun scorched land" GOD promises that we will BE like well watered gardens and a spring that never fails. As we witness and disciple people in Christ, lets assure them that their Heavenly Father has resources that will NEVER run out or dry up. Whether He provides , Lobster, Ramen noodles, or flesh from ravens by a brook...God takes care of His children!!! Even in this drought, we will thrive spiritually and physically because GOD is with us, and HE is providing everything we need!
Have a great weekend and tell somebody --- about Jesus. (-:

BE! So Others Can Become

John 5:19

So Jesus explained, "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.

Above is picture of a father and son, both joined the military and they even work together. I'm thinking that the son has always looked up to and admired his dad. Maybe from his youth, the son watched in admiration as his father supported their family and defended this country. Maybe the son watched or was aware of his father getting up early in the morning, cleaning his shoes, ironing his uniform, and preparing for work. I can just imagine this son watching his father help out strangers, return from war, and speak respectfully of and to others as well. NOW he has followed in his father's footsteps and they are doing a great work together!

Jesus did what He saw the Father do and obviously He saw the Father DO some pretty awesome things. Jesus then turned around and DID those same things. As we lead and disciple others, we MUST remember that they are watching us. Whatever we approve of they just might do the same. Whatever type of music, movies, clothing, lifestyle choices we make---they perhaps will eventually try to emulate us, as we gain more and more influence with them, because of the power and love of God in our lives. So, we have a great responsibility to copy Christ for us and for others. The world has seen enough worldliness and carnality in the church. It's time to show them the Father in all His holiness, glory, and love. It is truly time for us to be like our Father so others can become like Him too!

We love you and have a great weekend! (-:
