Matthew 11:5
The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
Jesus said we would do the same works that He did and greater works. Those spectacular works are usually the ones that we long to do right!? How many times have we all seen a blind person, a person in a wheel chair, and just wanted to go up to them and tell them to be whole in Jesus name!!! We all have had that burning haven't we? How many times have you gone to a funeral and went up to the coffin and just prayed and really hoped that God would raise that person up?! Oh that God would use us.....Question. Do you have that same burning desire for God to work through you with the beggar, the homeless, the cast aways?? Do we only want to reach and preach in the beautiful areas of the city. Can we preach with the fire of God to those with NO loot in their bank accounts and pockets? God-family, Jesus valued the poor and He made sure they were not left off the preaching circuit. While there is nothing wrong with wealth and beauty, everybody is not wealthy, and every part of town isn't beautiful and smells like freshly cut grass and bar-b-que. Whatever you do in this life for the LORD remember that He preached to ALL people, He touched ALL people, but most of all--He died for ALL people. Don't forget the poor, they need the Gospel and the love and help from US--God's people. We have been called out of darkness saints and blessed to BE a blessing. Remember that the next time you plan an outreach, or see a beggar on the side of the rode, it is a great work indeed (-:
