What or Who Are You Here For?

Matthew 6:24-26
24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?

26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

Do any of us really believe that Scripture? I mean do we really believe that God has specific plans to take care of us, or do we kind of believe that while we seek out more levels or streams of income? I'am amazed at how some of us have bought into the lie called, "The American Dream or Slice of Life" or whatever you want to call it. God NEVER promised us that dream. He said I will supply all your needs and I will never leave you nor forsake you. He never told us to work ourselves to death for bigger or better, He said-"Be content with such things as you have." Hebrews 13:5

I wonder how many people would or could take just one paycheck or half a paycheck and sow it in an overseas ministry where they can truly make a dolla holla! Or take a paycheck and give it to a relative, neighbor, or church member to help them through these tough times. Sadly while many are trying to obtain the American Dream and are digging themselves deeper into debt, many are dying without Christ and many people are going without necessities, while we cry about not being able to go to the Outback Steakhouse or torn up about not being able to wear that designer this or that! WOW! Where are we going as a church?!? What and where are OUR priorities?

LIFE is more than what you are going to wear or food you are going to eat. Some of us need to just sit down and ask ourselves who and what are we here for??? Is to be about our Fathers' business or our own business??? If this world is not our home than why do we try so hard to make it our home? Ask yourself what am I giving to spread the Gospel ABOVE my tithes and offerings? If you really want to crucify your flesh dig in your wallet and help overseas. There are so many reputable ministries over there that are doing a tremendous work for the LORD that you could sow into. For most that I know of personally it's not about bigger and better it's about Jesus Christ and taking care of one another. I pray we all advance to the point of not just singing and talking about the church in Acts, but truly being the church in Acts. Time is so short people of God, our lives are NOT own and we need to be even more serious about investing in souls and not so much in those things that will truly perish.
