Through out the rest of this year I'm going to introduce to you some great men and women of God who gave their all to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. As we turn the final pages of 2010 and possibly time as we know it with the return of Christ any second, may God stir you up and set your heart on fire for the lost.
Rowland Bingham was heard to have said, "I will open Africa or die trying."
This brother endured against the many,many, obstacles that seemed to be designed specifically to stop him. Obstacles like discouraging words from those who were influential in his life, the death of his friends that were helping him, and being striken with illness himself. Still he persevered and he started the Sudan Interior Mission to help raise funds for his second attempt at bringing the Gospel to the Sudan. Sadly Rowland's friends lost heart and abandoned the mission and him, in addition to that blow he then found himself struck down with malaria and having to return back to England. He said that went through the darkest period of his life after that second attempt, but he tried one more time! As he learned to fight the powers of darkness through prayer, fruit started manifesting. He started hundreds of churches and even built medical centers to help fight against a local disease leprosy. After 50 years Rowland saw 10,000 people converted to Christ and nearly 1,000 churches planted. What an awesome man of God he was. He faced all kinds of hurdles, but yet he refused to give up on God's plan for him and the Sudan.
Saints of God- we too have been charged by God to fulfill the Great Commission, don't give up! God needs you! Learn to endure whatever comes your way, wage war against darkness through prayer. Watch God move through you with the intent, of helping you snatch souls out of the kingdom of darkness!!!!
