Go and learn what this means: I desire mercy [that is, readiness to help those in trouble] and not sacrifice and sacrificial victims. For I came not to call and invite [to repentance] the righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with God), but sinners (the erring ones and all those not free from sin).
Jesus came because GOD had already predestined that sin would not have the final say so in the lives of His creation. GOD already knew that Adam and Eve would fail. He already had a back up plan to redeem all of mankind. As I recall the history of the fall of man I can't help, but think that here is the one time GOD gives us the power and authority to rule and reign and we blow it. There shouldn"t be a man, woman, or child that should ever think that they can live and walk in influence WITHOUT GOD's help. Even more so that they can win over sin ---WITHOUT GOD! It is impossible. Here we see GOD is GREEN. He much rather redeem and help those wayward and rebellious souls-- than to destroy them. Those whom He took His time and energy to create. What love!!!! God gets no pleasure in the death of the wicked. He would much rather we escape Hell through Jesus than to inhabit it one day forever. No, Elohim would much rather have His creation with Him, than anywhere else in the universe. It was the desire of GOD to send Jesus. It was the desire of GOD to deliver us from sin, satan, and ourselves. GOD loves us yet GOD hates sin. So, GOD sent us a present and nailed HIM to a tree for us. It was GOD's desire that we be Saved and Jesus fulfilled GOD's desire. I'm thankful today that GOD desires to show mercy and NOT wrath, He desires to help us and NOT destroy us. GOD has sent us Jesus....where we end up in eternity is totally our choice...what is YOUR desire Heaven or Hell? God desires that YOU spend eternity in Heaven with Him (-:
