Praying & Proclaiming- Key Elements in Evangelism

Question. How are your evangelism efforts coming along so far this year?
In the Bible it is recorded that the Apostles in Acts 6:4 said(Amplified Bible)
4But we will continue to devote ourselves steadfastly to prayer and the ministry of the Word. The original Greek word for prayer is proseuche and has worship, chapel, and earnestly praying as it's definitions, the Greek word for ministry is diakonia and it refers to attendance, aid, service. As branches rooted in the Vine we know or we will soon find out on this journey that we can do nothing without Christ's help. It is interesting to note that the Apostles put prayer first before ministry. They didn't say ministry and prayer but stated it the other way around. The more God gives you to do the more you will find this to be true. Prayer is the key that turns the car of ministry on and keeps it moving. Prayer is CRITICAL to life AND ministry. I love the definitions of ministry attendance, aid, service. As you go about daily first PRAY, if you have hours to do it---DO THAT! If you don't get up early or stay up as late as you can and PRAY!!! There are people that need attending to, that need the aid of the Word in you and that need to be served. Can I tell you that YOU ARE A MINISTER!!! YOU have been given the "ministry of reconciliation" don't believe me? (-:
Here is God's Word on it:
2 Corinthians 5:17-19 (Amplified Bible)
17Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

18But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to Himself [received us into favor, brought us into harmony with Himself] and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation [that by word and deed we might aim to bring others into harmony with Him].

19It was God [personally present] in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but cancelling them], and committing to us the message of reconciliation (of the restoration to favor).

If you are born again you have the awesome responsiblity of reconciliation and the best way to be prepared to do that is through prayer and proclaiming that Word of reconciliation to a lost and dying world, a dying world that you and I were once apart of....

Let God Urge Men to Christ Through YOU! 2 Corinthians 5:20
